ICOEPH 2026 Conference: Reframing Public Health Research Toward Resilient, Equitable, and Sustainable Health Systems

SEMARANG — In response to escalating global health challenges, the Doctoral Program in Public Health, Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Diponegoro, will convene the 2nd International Conference of Epidemiology and Public Health (ICOEPH 2026) on June 20, 2026. The conference is virtual and serves as a strategic platform to critically reassess the direction of public health research and its relevance to real-world system resilience.

Amid increasing uncertainty driven by pandemics, climate-related health risks, and persistent inequities, the conference adopts the theme “Resilient Health Systems in a Turbulent World.” This framing signals a deliberate shift away from fragmented and reactive approaches toward integrated, evidence-based strategies that prioritize preparedness, equity, and sustainability.

The organizing committee emphasizes that ICOEPH 2026 is not intended as a ceremonial academic gathering. Instead, it is designed as a space for rigorous scientific exchange, where assumptions can be challenged, and methodological robustness is expected. Without such critical engagement, public health discourse risks stagnation and limited policy impact.

Registration for participants is open from April 1 to June 5, 2026, while abstract submissions are accepted until May 10, 2026. Scholars, researchers, and practitioners across disciplines are encouraged to contribute empirical findings, theoretical advancements, and policy analyses that directly address systemic weaknesses in health systems.

Selected papers from the conference will be considered for publication in international journals indexed by Scopus and national journals accredited under SINTA. However, the committee notes that publication will depend on rigorous peer review, reinforcing the conference’s commitment to academic integrity.

More information regarding submission guidelines and registration procedures is available at the official website https://icoeph.com/ or via email at icoeph@outlook.com.

A Call for Scientific Engagement

At a time when health systems worldwide face structural strain, ICOEPH 2026 calls upon the academic community not merely to participate, but to contribute meaningfully. The conference invites researchers to move beyond descriptive analyses and toward actionable, evidence-driven solutions that can inform policy and practice.

The urgency is clear. Without a fundamental reframing of public health research, efforts to build resilient and equitable health systems will remain fragmented. ICOEPH 2026 positions itself as a collective step toward addressing that gap.
